Description:
Despite our best efforts, conflicts and errors occur in laboratory stewardship and laboratory management. In this session, we describe tools for managing conflict and giving appropriate apologies, and apply them to realistic examples.
Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe the key elements of an effective apology, and list one approach to avoid.
  2. Describe a realistic and professional approach to reducing the frequency of conflicts, which does not involve avoidance.
  3. Name four techniques in conflict management and how they might be applied to a case of conflict between two individuals.
