Description:
Urine drug testing plays a critical role in the management of substance use disorders. However, the complexity of its utilization and interpretation continues to pose significant challenges for both laboratories and clinicians. This session examines advanced strategies across pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of laboratory testing to enhance quality, improve efficiency, and strengthen the clinical impact of toxicology services.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the clinical utility of urine drug testing and the value of real-time dashboards for monitoring patient populations and trends.
- Identify analytical approaches that improve the efficiency and workflow of confirmatory urine drug assays.
- Explain how custom applications and machine learning enhance clinical drug testing.
